The End of Autumn

"Strath Kildonan in Autumn" - watercolour - 24 x 36 cm

The calm sunny weather we had for much of the autumn seems to have ended now. Storms are on the way with icy winds, so scenes like this may be replaced with snow soon.

Good evening Keith!... You have captured that moment of pause and quiet warmth of late autumn which precedes the icy blasts of winter storms. Reflective... and enjoyable for what it is - the last breath of autumn! A gem Keith!

Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce

Hi Bruce, I'm glad that feeling of warmth and quiet reflection comes across in the painting. It's good to have that time to prepare for winter.

All the best,
Keith

I love the painting, Keith, especially the 'break' across the middle where you know that the water is doing lots of exciting things before it falls past the rocks and continues on its way. Beautiful autumn colourings with the darkening sky already whispering about winter.

Keith, this is a scene I never get to see. But I do appreciate seeing it in a painting..
It's so well done and yes reflects the coming season..
I'm sure you'll be out there painting snow scenes..

Thank you BJ, I can't imagine not having proper seasons; they provide so much more variety of subjects.
